Agent recommendation: A peaceful oasis outside the city bustle

Text: Emilija Živičnjak, Zagreb office

My job as a real estate agent started back in 2008, when I started working in the Zagreb office of Biliškov real estate. Sometimes in 2014, a break followed, when I stayed with my daughter for a while in Sydney; Australia. The job of a real estate agent is very interesting and dynamic, and working with a great team of young, smart, hardworking people is especially motivating. There is no place for lull and monotony. Every day is an opportunity to meet new people and learn something new.

I am a licensed agent and a graduate political scientist. By nature I am very curious, communicative and positive. I love finding clients real estate that will be their future home. Buying and selling real estate is a really emotional moment, both for the buyer and the seller, and that is perhaps the most challenging aspect of this job – being a psychologist. It is important to listen patiently to the client’s needs, learn about his lifestyle, priorities, opportunities, relieve him/her of stress, fear and be supportive. However, this is one of the most important steps in life and often the biggest investment. Ultimately, the biggest reward is a satisfied customer and his smile and happiness after a successful sales transaction.

Given today’s “new normal”, when homes are no longer just homes, but also offices, schools, gyms each square meter is valued more, and compared to previous years, there is a greater demand for houses and land. In the second half of 2020, we sold several dozen plots of land for the construction of family houses in locations such as Gajnice, Gornje Vrapče and Gornja Kustošija. Buyers are thinking that the land and a comfortable new family house will cost less than a two bedroom apartment in Maksimir or Jarun.

Those who already have a flat in the city are increasingly inquiring about rural estates near Zagreb. The opportunity for a weekend break outside the city seems increasingly attractive. The location of such properties up to an hour’s drive from the city is perfect for an escape from the city bustle, for all those who like nature, peace and quiet. Especially in these times of Covid, it is much nicer and more relaxed to stay in a house on a farm somewhere in the countryside than in an apartment in a building.

Not far from Zagreb, in Novaki – only 50 minutes driving distance, there is a beautiful family estate on a plot of 15,000m2. On the state there Is completely renovated ground floor house of 80m2, and a gazebo with a barbecue of 40m2. The house has an antique charm. It consists of two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. The garden is beautifully landscaped and nurtured. In addition to the orchards, the property has its own drinking water from well. The asking price is € 69,000.
